So In Love With - Chamilia - Custom Jewelry

                                    About Chamilia

I first stumbled on Chamilia in Louisville KY, when an friend and I were browsing for gifts. We walked into one of their licensed retailers by chance and noticed the beads. I am a huge fan of Swarovski Crystals and anything that has anything to do with them! So you can all guess what I was drawn to first! but what I found was an absolutely ingenious company!  For Chamilia, the principle is simple: design is different here, as the lady behind the counter so proudly stated... and indeed it is!

The company was founded in 2002 by Killian Rieder and Jeff Julkowski on the premise of putting design into the hands of the customer. Killian, a former designer with fashion icon Polo, wanted this brand to be personalized to allow women to change and customize it to fit the mood, moment or occasion, like a chameleon that changes in its environment.

They launched Chamilia with a line of handcrafted beads of Italian Murano glass, colored stones, 14k gold and sterling silver that pair with beautifully designed companion bracelets, bangles and necklaces. The result is a fresh, contemporary twist on the richly remembered charm bracelet.

Today, Chamilia is fast becoming the “it” brand in the rapidly growing customized jewelry category. The company has a growing collection of 600+ beads and a successful Disney® partnership with an exclusive collection of authentic Disney beads not available anywhere else!

Chamilia supports communities and causes across the globe by introducing limited edition beads and donating a portion of the proceeds to support causes like Breast Cancer, Autism and world peace programs.

For those of you who are wondering! Yes, we did end up buying a beautiful bracelet for the lucky lady!

Joseph Altuzarra has fast become one of my favorite New York designers. His aesthetic changes so dramatically each season and yet maintains his inimitable tough-chic touch. Like star London designer Christopher Kane, Altuzarra is all about shedding last season’s skin and revealing something completely new — and it is so exciting to see what his vision for the new season is going to be. For fall ’11, the look was downright cool. Reworked motorbike jackets, zippers, and straps were rife throughout the collection, which was conceived principally in charcoal, black, and burgundy, broken up with a classic argyle print. Boots were knee-high and intimidating, with fur jutting out along the tongue, and unusual heels featured silver sparkly toes with fur ankle straps — no doubt just the thing for avant-garde magazine editorial shoots in the months to come.

                                                                                                                                                                                  Enjoy!

Hider Ackermann SS 2011 & FW 2011

Haider Ackermann’s lyrical collection began in Trappist silence, moved through stately seventeenth century chords, and ended on a strident modern note—and to a ringing crescendo of applause.
The superbly paced show opened with austerely beautiful ensembles that layered different elements of black. Watteau-backed jackets or coats swung over satin-collared dressing gowns and hip-slouched pants, or skirts cut in artful spirals. These monochromatic looks were subtly punctuated with single elements of white, building to an all-white outfit, and eventually with elements of amethyst or mallard, until Ackermann sent out looks colored in extraordinary tonal nuances—layerings of teal green, forest green, kingfisher blue, and deep jade, for example—that proved him a master colorist.  - Vogue Magazine

I loved several of the pieces, very dramatic I must say... Over all very seductive collections and Ackermann use of color combinations is absolutely B.r.i.l.l.i.a.n.t.... Although some of the pieces I had mixed feelings about I would defiantly wear most of what went down the run way! Great ideas for both your Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter wardrobe!
